The Red Hen Restaurant and Crime Scene
Walter Shaub, former Ethics Director for President Barack Obama, accused White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders of violating ethics laws when she said she had been kicked out of a restaurant because she works for President Trump. There were plenty of witnesses. So the truth is illegal to Democrats? By what laws?
Shaub accused Sarah of breaking the law, Tweeting: “Sarah, I know you don’t care even a tiny little bit about the ethics rules, but using your official account for this is a clear violation of 5 CFR 2635.702(a).”
Shaub claimed Sanders had violated an ethics rule entitled “Use of Public Office for Private Gain” banning Federal employees from using positions for private financial gain. What profit is there in being kicked out?
The incident would have been publicized in any case, much like that of DHS secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s harassment at a Mexican restaurant. Sanders only beat the media to the punch.
5 CFR 2635.702 says: “An employee may not use his public office for his own private gain or for that of persons or organizations with which he is associated personally. An employee’s position or title should not be used to coerce; to endorse any product, service or enterprise; or to give the appearance of governmental sanction.”
Sarah Sanders gained nothing being kicked out of an obscure restaurant, nor did she condemn Red Hen; she stated the facts and that is not yet a crime until we become a socialist state. The restaurant’s liberal owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, did not deny that Sanders “politely left.”
Red Hen got worldwide press coverage and gained thousands of Twitter followers. When the incident first occurred, Red Hen’s Twitter account, had been inactive since 2014, with than 300 followers. Now it has over 18,000. If anything the Red Hen people owe Sarah Sanders something, but then there is always "5 CFR 2635.702."
Walter Shaub trashed Sara Sanders even though she was the victim of discrimination. So much for socialism! Meanwhile, he said nothing when his former boss, Barack Obama, separated children from their illegal-alien parents for eight years, ignoring reports his administration beaten and starved them.
This is how Trump Derangement Syndrome causes liberals to make mountains of molehills to attack President Trump and anyone who dares to work for him.
Stephanie Wilkinson, the owner of Red Hen, told the Washington Post she stands by her decision to throw a paying customer out of her restaurant because they’re a Trump supporter, and she’d do it again. We find this the amazing side of "Liberalism." It is not liberal at all.
“Absolutely, yes, I would have done the same thing again,” Wilkinson bragged. “We just felt there are moments in time when people need to live their convictions. This appeared to be one.”
According to her LinkedIn profile, Wilkinson is also the founder and publisher of Brain Child magazine and co-owner of the House Mountain Yarn Company. Brain Child’s published mission statement is: “The magazine strives to bring together the many voices of women from different backgrounds, circumstances, and experiences in a way that provides mothers with insight and perspective into real issues.”
Social media reacted negatively to the incident coming down hard on the Red Hen criticizing everything from their front facade which is in need of maintenance, new awnings, the food and service.
Commentators speculated how much worse it could have been had it been Barack and Michelle Obama which is a particularly stinging comparison as it reveals the bias in the American culture today and what is to come as our nation unravels.
