It's up to us to prevent the most corrupt, conflict-ridden administration in history. Pitch in $3 or more to help Democrats hold Trump accountable.
On Wednesday, Donald Trump was supposed to reveal his long-awaited plan to separate his personal business interests from his new job as president. Instead, we got a step-by-step guide for anyone in the world to bribe the next President of the United States. Trump won't release his tax returns so the public can see if he has conflicts of interest, won't divest from his businesses, won't pledge not to discuss business with his sons once they take over day-to-day operations of the company -- and even if Trump were willing to adhere to the most basic ethical standards, there's no independent mechanism for transparency or accountability. So it's going to be on Democrats to hold Trump's feet to the fire from the second he takes office -- to prevent the most corrupt, conflict-ridden administration in American history. We've always relied on grassroots supporters like you to stand with us for big fights like these, and we're going to need you in the trenches with us for the next four years of the Trump administration. But, for the record: Mr. Trump is not taking a salary for his term in office more than the $1 required to make his service legal per contract law. Mr. Trump, and men in his class are literally "beyond money." They have made so much, so long, they do not think of it. If they want something they get it, money is not the issue. After all "money" is an intellectual concept Democrats never understand, i.e. it must stand for something. Historically, Democrat money has never stood for anything. It has always been something the next two or three generations will pay having gotten some "free" stuff. Mr. Trump, and family know that is a false concept. Even Mr. Trump's children are multimillionaires in their own rights. Gerald Kushner, Mr. Trump's son-in-law is very wealthy from several businesses in which he is involved. Ivanka snagged a young man so much like her father it is stunning. Mr. Trump is not releasing his tax returns on the advice of his attorneys, as the numbers in the documents may change if the auditors dis-allow, or allow, certain deductions, require changes in amortizations and other such elements as well as having those with intentions of the kind you display to do Mr. Trump harm by reporting only preliminary figures and not resolved data in his several hundred page returns. Your motivations are obvious, telling, repulsive and make me want to vomit. Adrian Vance PS: No, I will not "chip in" $3 to what I believe is the most corrupt political party in the history of the United States. |
