Make American Science Great Again!

This is an additional slogan for the Trump campaign

If you can make contact with Trump campaign, this might be an interesting campaign issue he could use.

This is a new meme by writer, author, and eminent chemical engineer Lindsay Leveen satirizing the latest mistakes by the Department of Energy (Entropy).  Mr. Leveen has for many years exposed waste of billions of rate payer and tax payer dollars in the pursuit of "renewable energy".

The smiling man in the hardhat is Ernest Moniz, Secretary of the Department of Energy, overlooking a recent renewable energy project.  The background is the recent Ivanpah concentrated solar power plant in the California desert that has 170,000 mirrors directing the sun's energy toward three towers to produce steam.  Plant cost is $2.2 billion with $1.5 billion in loans guaranteed by the Department of Energy.  The flaming birds ignited by the power plant are called "streamers".  The plant was beset with operating problems since its initial operation early 2014.  The latest problem is misguided mirrors ignited a portion of a tower May 20.  The problem with the plant is whether it can perform its 20-year power purchase agreement to sell electricity to a California utility at 19 cents per kilowatt-hour.  This is four or more times the cost of power from coal or natural gas fired power plants.

On Secretary Moniz jacket is four company names, the first three bankrupt, that were funded by billions in guaranteed loans.  The power pole shows the pecking order established by the Obama Administration for its renewable energy programs.  The Executive Office craps on Republican and Democrat Congress who in turn crap on state politicians.  The final receiver of all the crap is the American People thru loss of tax dollars and higher energy rates.

If you examine what has happened since 2009; the losses in renewable energy programs of solar, wind, ethanol from corn, other biofuels, etc. has to approach one trillion dollars.
