The FBI became aware of Omar Mateen in 2013 when he made comments to co-workers alleging terrorist ties. The feds talked to Mateen three times in connection with his remarks, which should have assumed more than casual importance in light of his job as an armed security person guarding government buildings and his expressed ambition to become a police officer
Mateen was removed from a terror watch list when it was found he had broken no laws and it has come to light that the White House objects to any Federal agency putting the finger on Muslims. Could this be confirmation Mr. Obama is himself a Muslim in spite of his claim otherwise? It is a tenet of Islam the faithful are to lie to "infidels" when it serves their purpose.
This fits abundant precedent. The father of the "underwear bomber" warned of his son's intentions to attack America, but the warnings were ignored by the FBI for fear of a bad reaction from the White House. Let us not forget that Mr. Obama is 1/3rd of government and all in one person.
The Russian government warned U.S. authorities the Boston Marathon bombers were radical Islamists more than a year and a half before they killed many and maimed 150 people. As with Mateen, the FBI found no laws were violated. The brothers were interviewed and released until they executed the "pressure cooker" blast. More repression of focus on Muslims from the White House? The people of Boston deserve to know. Documents exist. Where is our law enforcement? Certainly not with the people.
The Pentagon totally ignored the many signs, complaints and incidents that preceded the For Hood massacre by avowed Muslim Nidal Malik Hasan who was known to be communicating with terrorists. Again, the FBI was informed, but fumbled on purpose, again on White House strictures.
The extensive arsenal building, recent Middle East travel, and correspondence with Islamist extremists of Sayed Rizwan Farook did not alarm the FBI before he and his wife massacred 14 people at a Christmas party in San Bernardino working under White House "Rules of Engagement" or should we say "Rules of Disengagement."
The documented 600 requests for security upgrades and help from the Behghazi Consulate failed to rouse Secretary Clinton to action. How can we avoid thinking and saying those people were sacrified to Allah when our President walks off a stage of Arab leaders showing the one finger sign "There is only one God and he is Allah." When Hillary was asked how she could fail to see a telegragraphed plea she replied, "What difference, at this point, does it make?"
The most disturbing aspect of our terror attacks is that our authorities were taken by surprise each time despite advance warnings. These failures deny the administration's claim to competence or they were malevolent. Take your pick.
This is something the public understands. Suppose someone came to you claiming he was a brain surgeon. With a little research you could compile questions only a brain surgeon could answer correctly and prove, or not, his credentials in one quiz. If someone tells you he has a Ph.D. you can ask him from where, the title of his thesis and the library where filed or published and in two phone calls confirm him or expose the fraud. Always corroborate.
The administration's demand for more gun control fits the history of the 20, or so, despots of the 20th century who invoked gun control, took all the guns, killed all their enemies and repressed the people who could no longer defend themselves. Scoundrals are at least consistent. Mr. Obama wants our guns.
The argument that it is better to rely on state protection than on individual self-defense is only worth having if government can deliver and it has shown consistently that it cannot. Mr. Obama wants us to trust him, but he has lied to us repeatedly.
It now appears some Americans will die on their doorsteps trying to keep their self-defense weapons from Eternal President Obama's confiscation. The man is crystallizing before us. If the Second Amendment didn't already exist it would have to be invented to keep the people free. We are at a decision point today.
The more incompetent the Obama administration becomes, the less convincing is their demand for public disarmament. Conversely, the more competence the administration demonstrates, the more likely the public would be to entrust its safety to it, but Mr. Obama has long ago squandered that opportunity.
Historically, state failure drives civilian armament, not the other way around. The clearest recent example of this is in Lebanon, where the inability of the central government to protect the people led each to protect themselves. America was Lebanon a long time ago and should never have forgotten as it appears many have.
The President addressed the nation after terror attacks far too often with the same lame, inappropriate message not addressing the real problem. His assurances America can take such attacks because he's smarter and tougher than the terrorists fall flat and would be laughable if they were not so ominous. Against this backdrop we learn how his policies have directed this incident to be a far greater tragedy than it would have been had he not interfered.
The administration has a security model that is not only not working, but it is not a security model so much as an aquisition plan for the power system. It does not define the real problem or deal with it.
The greatest trick Islamic terrorism ever pulled on America was having President Obama insist it doesn't exist. Mr. Obama comes from a great Democratic tradition and it is ironic entertainers have a far better understanding of our reality than do those in high office.
