Our economy was on the verge of collapse, and we faced the biggest recession in nearly a century. A broken health care system meant more and more parents having to choose between putting food on the table or paying their bills. Our military was waging two wars overseas, while many of the brave men and women who served our country were unable to be who they were or love who they loved.
Back then, there were a lot of cynical people who said we could never make the change we knew we needed. They made their bets against us, and they thought they had a sure thing.
We proved them wrong. I hope you'll never forget the role you played in making that happen -- because I'm going to need your support now more than ever.
Those cynics haven't gone away, Adrian, and now they're trying to tell us that the progress we've made in my two terms in office is it -- that our country can't move forward anymore.
We're going to prove them wrong again, and you're going to have an important role to play in that, too.
That starts right now with you saying you'll be part of finishing the work we started -- that you're committed to electing the Democrats who will work alongside us:

Don't let anyone tell you we've reached the final chapter, Adrian. We've got a long way to go, more work to do, and more progress to make.
You've always been a part of this movement, and I know you always will be. So thanks.
Barack Obama

Dear Mr. Obama:
Thank you, sir, for the note, but I find your recall of events both inaccurate and self-serving. You are correct that the economy was on the verge of a serious decline in 2008, but the markets took a bump up when John McCain was nominated and went into a deep dive the day after you were nominated.
The equities markets did not pull out until your Federal Reserve Chair, Ben Bernanke printed a trillion Dollars of baseless money (unsold T-Bonds) which went to all the banks to lend to small businesses soon after your nomination. (See the record.)
That was pure Keynesian economics, but where John Maynard Keynes said it should only be done once you have seen to it that the process has continued every year which have given us a national debt exceeding our Gross Domestic Product for a year! No nation in history has ever survived this without serious damage or collapse, since Rome in 500 AD. You are a course to collapse, but I appreciate a note from Mr. Obama.
Adrian Vance
