Senator Kamala Harris
Sen. Kamala Harris wants to be President. She may have impressed the hard-left in a confirmation hearing for Ronald Vitiello to be head of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE, but angered many more who are tired of her one trick of interrupting her victim while he is answering her question. That she thinks this is great act it will keep her from getting on base in the 2020 primaries because it well documents her personal and intellectual deficiencies.Harris asked “Are you aware of the perception of many about how the power and the discretion at ICE is being used to enforce the laws and do you see any parallels [with the Ku Klux Klan?”
The KKK comparison came Kamala questioned Vitiello about a 2015 Tweet in which he said the modern Democratic Party was a “neo-Klanist” organization which is a fact as it was the action-arm of the founding Democrats.
Vitiello apologized for the tweet, admitted it was an offensive comparison, Harris leapt on it as a jumping-off point to drub ICE. Defensively Vitiello said, “I do not see any parallels.” “No, I’m very specific in what I’m asking you,” Harris responded. “Are you aware of a perception that the way that they–” “I see none,” Vitiello said catching on to her game.
“Are you aware that there is a perception that ICE is administering its power in a way that is causing fear and intimidation, particularly among immigrants and specifically among immigrants coming from Mexico and Central America?” she asked.
“I do not see a parallel between the power and the authority that ICE has to do its job and the agents and officers who do it professionally and excellently with lots of compassion,” Vitiello replied.
“Sir, how can you be the head of an agency and be unaware of how your agency is perceived by certain communities?” Harris asked using her pre-scripted answer that was as appropriate as a fart in church.
If Kamala, whose mother couldn't spell "Camilla," thought this was clever, she was reading it from a script, not noticing that even people from her side were embarrassed for her. It was difficult to watch.
This was a ridiculous line of questioning. What does it matter? This line of questioning is so sophomoric it could apply to every police department, state or federal law enforcement agency by anyone playing "downtrodden," the big game for all minorities who have elected not to play the opportunity game in the greatest place where it is happening.
Ms. Harris is fumbling at the "compassion" game having first picked the wrong people to champion as this mass of marching people debris from Guatemala is primarily young men, many criminals, many in the illegal drug business, many violent, fugitives from justice, some murders. Among those not evil are many illiterates, mental defectives, and on. That they are "Only seeking a better life!" needs to answer the question, "OK, but who pays?"
The 22 million that are here now average costing us $15,000 per person, per year or $330 billion per year, but with 5.5 million working and producing about $20,000 of new products and services they contribute $110 billion, but come up $220 billion short to say nothing of the crimes as these people are about 20% of our prison population, 1.5 million at $40,000 per year or $60 billion so our net gain is $50 billion against a net loss of $280 billion.
One who wants to be President must have at least the perspective of an 83 word analysis of the above paragraph, but Ms. Harris wraped up saying:
“It seems to me that you would understand that when you use words like the words you used just three short years ago, that that would contribute to that perception. And it’s harmful then, it’s harmful in terms of the mission of the agency and the work of the individuals there. And it is harmful in terms of leading — innocent people arriving at our border fleeing harm, it is harmful to them.”
The Republican response was swift. Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel tweeted: “Kamala Harris is trying to launch her 2020 campaign off of comparing ICE officers to the KKK, and it’s absolutely disgusting.”
If this is the best of the Democrat's potential candidates, Mr. Trump has nothing to worry about.
