The Honorable Conor Lamb
The fine art of prognostication is of critical importance in politics and millions, if not billions, of Dollars are spent on it in politics, the power point of social intercourse, the function that screws all at tax time, kills many at war time, guides, often ruins us, at decision time. The case of Coner Lamb is one in point:
The major media claimed the GOP was shaken after the Democrat Conor Lamb victory in Pennsylvania’s 18th district special election, where Donald Trump had won by a 20% margin in 2016, but exposed vulnerabilities Democrats now have overwhelmingly. There are significant factors in this case dashing the hypothesis it was a great victory for the DNC's multi-million Dollar investment.
This was a special election for a Congressional District that will not exist as Pennsylvania is consolidating Congressional \Districts due to the population decline of people fleeing high taxes. The seat Conor Lamb won was not worth much where the House would be in recess four months before November thus squeezing the victory down to weeks in a House where Democrats do little more than watch.
The DNC spent $14 million on a candidate who looks and sounds like a young Republican, not a Democrat! He openly opposed Democrat leadership and his positions on issues were utterly Republican. His opponent was about as appealing as a tub of party oatmeal and no spoons taking. Nonetheless...
Conor Lamb did vote with Democrat leadership as he was in deep debt to them for the few weeks he would have in the House on their Dollars. But if he intends to continue through the November mid-terms he will have to take positions directly opposed to Democrat leadership and continue to trash Nancy Pelosi! The Democrats thus created a political porcupine for $14 million.
It was an even worse investment than the $14 million they spent on the Steele "dossier," which is not a "sheaf of documents," per definition, but a 38 fictional narrative that cost $36,842 per page or $147.37 per word! That is a writing job any pro-writer would take in a New York minute.
Conor Lamb is a distinctly different kind of Democrat from the usual party people. A 33-year-old former Marine he has never said a bad word about President Trump. He openly supports Trump policies, including higher import tariffs on steel and aluminum. He is pro Second Amendment (gasp!). He opposes raising miniumum wages
to $15. He is in line with working-class voters in rural Pennsylvania, many of whom were already “Blue Dog Democrats,” or "Reagan Democrats," who voted for Donald Trump in 2016 because they are seriously at odds with with the Democrat Party.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer, figureheads of the left-wing establishment, say this is a great victory without realizing this litter has a bastard in it! They utterly failed to realize what they had in hand and shamelessly mocked Trump's "deplorable" voters just to put their cherry on the "sundae." This has been something to behold and all the major media are pretending it is not the case.
The GOP is said to be shaken after Democrat Conor Lamb’s razor thin victory in Pennsylvania’s 18th district special election, a district where Donald Trump prevailed by 20 percentage points in 2016. Liberal analysts are branding the race a bellwether for the midterm elections and we agree, but with a conclusion completely at odds with the DNC.
The second punch line is that Conor Lamb proved the Trump case with Democrat money, but they are too stupid to see it! Conor Lamb put distance between his positions and those of the Democrats in every case if you read what he said and even published in campaign literature! He is the bastard puppy in the liter, but ever anxious Democrats have been so busy yelling "Russia! Russia! Russia!" and "Kanvaugh! Kavanaugh! Kavenaugh!" they have taken their eyes off the ball.
The Democrats talked about building a coalition of white, rural, working-class voters for the mid-terms based on the Lamb victory without considering the elements that created it, must less what it cost, without having the money to pay for it. This is an area where politics comes down to numbers of Dollars and with their major donors going to jail in sex scandals they do not have the money! We are in yet another insane era of American politics.
