Debbie Did It

The October 24, 2018 bomb scare for Democrats, ostensibly to be blamed on berzerk Republicans was likely a sympathy garnering and hate generating stunt involving or committed by Debbie Wasserman Schultz in an attempt to return to the graces of the party that has written her off.  The clues are several to many:

A Wasserman PVC bomb. 

None of the bombs exploded.  We expect the investigation will show the triggers were non-functional whether the main charge was or not.  There is no way a "bomber," even an amateur, would not test a trigger mechanism. That none functioned tells the story.  They were not meant to explode.

"Pipe bombs," which these are said to be, use "black powder" to create the explosion by generating such high pressure in a sealed, strong container that an explosion is created by the failure of the container and not molecular collapse as in "high explosives."

Where the container in the Wasserman bomb is PVC it would like do little to no explosion damage, but could start fires.   Such bombs are amateur grade weapons and require a flame generating igniter and not an exploding "cap."  The triggering mechanisms will be the telling clue in this case.  The detonators will confirm whether or not these are "gags," as we suspect them to be.

For the gag to work as intended Debbie Wasserman Schultz had to put her name on it to get credit from party people who could re-install her to the party executive fold.  This will be confirmed when that happens as her sins of incompetence are such that she would otherwise never be welcomed back to the fold of upper echelon Democrats given her many fumbles, foibles and fatal failures.
