The Big Game

The DC Swamp

The Donald J. Trump Presidency is exposing the real nature of politics in Washington, DC which has gotten so corrupt Congress is now less popular than Marie Antoinette the day she went to guillotine.

Publicly, Democrats have been the party of the downtrodden, minorities and immigrants while the Republicans have been the party of the landed gentry, business and Christians.  The current clutch of Republicans has found peace and prosperity by hanging back and letting the Democrats hatch socialistic ideas as they can get fat on the scraps and going along singing, "Love For Sale."

Social Security is a case in point:  In "All In One Life" FDR's best friend Jimmy Byrnes, who was rewarded with a U.S. Senate seat followed by one on the Supreme Court, helped FDR design "Sosh Security" as the "in" DC'ers call it, on an April day in 1934 in the oval office.  They had the 1930 Census on FDR's desk and from it extracted the fact that the average American was living 57 years and seven months.  They set the age for getting benefits as 65 because 98% of the people that had been paying in would be dead and not collect a dime!  No wonder the Democrats call "Sosh Security" their "Most successful program!"

If all Social Security subscribers had been required to put 15% of their wages in a bank for the last half of the 20th century, interest compounding, they would have $3,057,129 the day they retired.  From that they could withdraw $2,000 per month, $24,000 per year, to age 90 and have $182,376 left.  With Social Security they would get about $15,000 per year and on passing away at age 90 would receive $250 which is not even enough to put you in a cardboard box at a landfill.  What happens to the difference?  Congressmen spend it for votes, some is stolen and some builds bureaus of people who all volunteer as campaign workers at election time.  This is America today.  It is totally corrupt.

Mr. Trump understands this, as do an increasing number of people.  In the state of Arizona Republican Senator Jeff Flake is up for re-election and is challenged by Dr. Kelli Ward, a political neophyte.  Mr. Flake is a classic RINO, Republican In Name Only.  In a poll taken on September 12, 2017 Dr. Ward was beating Mr. Flake 58 to 30 and this is her first try at politics!  The people are wise to Flake as they are to Senate Majority Leader McConnel who has not had a real challenger in Kentucky, but why do we have the feeling one will show up?

So far Washington, DC has been a place where the business of the elected ruling class spends all their time in two activities:  Raising money four hours a day shaking down business, film stars, producers and drug people, two hours in the House or Senate chambers to stay in office and conjuring up ways to screw you and me.  It is The Big Game.
