Onward DCCC?

We’re still worried about what happened in Charlottesville -- and we know you are too.

You’ve read the news: White supremacists gathered to intimidate African Americans and Jewish Americans -- just because they’re outraged over the removal of a Confederate monument.

What started as a feigned protest turned into a domestic terror attack.

And Donald Trump’s botched condemnation made it worse.

Troublingly, unlike President Trump, we know there’s only one side to choose between wrong and right.

That’s what makes our resolve even stronger this morning.

Legislatively, there’s still a lot Congress can work on to undo all the bigotry that’s plagued us for centuries.

Restore the Voting Rights Act.

Force states to dismantle racial gerrymandering.

End workplace discrimination.

Condemn bigotry at every turn.

We need to fight tooth and nail for it.

This morning, we’re reminded that President Obama urged us to move forward after every difficult setback.

That’s what we’re going to do right now.

Adrian, we know that if grassroots supporters unite together, we’ll follow President Obama’s best advice:

We’ll be the change we seek.

Thanks for sticking with us.

Onward, DCCC

Dear DCCC:

Anyone who presupposes to know what I, or anyone knows or is concerned about is not sincere or an idiot.  Nonetheless, I will be glad to tell you what I think.

The liberal's idea of tearing down statues, monuments and memorials of the Civil War is more a step of erasing our history than sparing our "black" citizens, who are not black and some express not wanting to be citizens.  OK, so leave!

While trashing reminders of our most stupid war in history sounds good it is insane and as Edmund Burke said, "Those do not know history are destined to repeat it."  Read the history of Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin, who all did their best to erase the history of their defeated.  Stalin was the only one to die in peace, but it was one he enforced with a heavy boot and since he has been erased by his own people.

The fact of the matter is that we are served well by preserving and reconsidering our mistakes.  It is an asset and now it is very clear our Civil War should not have happened as the slave owners did not break the law and should have been compensated for the loss of their property in an exchange that would have created a new economy on  a very good footing without $36 billions in our loss including the 750,000 dead young men, about one of every five nationally.  This does not include the damage done to 750,000 widows and 1,725,000 fatherless children!

It is almost impossible to account for the damage the Civil War did to us. We are still dealing with the aftermath 156 years later from the original sin of the Civil War!  It was so stupid we are still dealing with it and will until the end of our time!  We should be reminded to study it more than any part of our history and you want to erase it?  Onward DCCC!
