Thanks, DCCC --------------------- Dear DCCC: What in the world are you people wailing about now?  Your ideas of "preserving" a place like Alaska are insane.  Mother Nature is doing things to it continually.  Animal populations come and go.  The only constant in nature is change.  The sun is changing every day. Some day it will either blow up or go out.  Pass a law on that and see what you accomplish.   When the first survey of Polar bears was taken in the 50's there were 7,000 of them.  The most recent survey says there are now 30,000, but your people had them on the endangered species list!  Frankly, I would settle for six or seven.  They are nasty, dangerous, smell bad, attack and eat people.  Say, why don't you guys go up there and set up your tents in Polar bear country.
