Strategically, it is painfully clear the best thing Republicans can do is let their ObamaCare replacement bill fail. Then, legislate a national free market, eliminate state insurance bureaus as are all corrupt, and let the free market sort it out. It works every time!
Mr. Obama sold the idea of socialized medicine to the insurance industry and the American Medical Association on the promise that once in place he would let both run roughshod over the people. The bill did nothing to control the prices of either insurance or services and both are critical to the economics. How else do you explain the fact that neither the insurance or medical associations made a "peep" as Ezekial Emanual, brother of "the Godfather of Chicago," as Rahm likes to be called as he watches the movie frequently.
The truth of the matter is medicine is corrupt with outrageous charges for next to nothing procedures, hospitals are corrupt in putting out bills up to 50 times what they should be knowing some will pay, many will not, but no one will sue and nail their butts to the door of the county Court House where all can see.
Nobody seems to have the guts to complain or fight back in an intelligent way so my next book is going to be "How To Complain" as I have honed this skill into a high art of sharp elbows and razor-sharp tactics.
I do not look for something for nothing, but when a hospital wants to charge me $7,000 for 20 minutes in an operating room that needs repainting; has an operating microscope I know is 30 years old and belongs in a museum. Charges $200 for a blueberry muffin the size of a young cantaloupe with nothing to drink with it, but a giant nurse, "Nurse Peterbilt," telling me I have to eat all of it! $1,000 for a ride on a cart stretched out like the aftermath of an autopsy and so on to a $20,000 bill. In ten minutes on the Internet I found it costs $2000 anywhere else in America, $40 in New Delhi, India, $100 in Medellin, Columbia and so on around the world. $20,000? One letter documenting this to my county District Attorney, copy to said hospital, caused the bill to evaporate. Never heard another word.
The whole world of "health care" has gone nuts with doctors who think they are God in a white coat and entitled to get back the cost of medical school every year; hospital administrators who convince their boards they should be the highest paid person in the place and where their heart surgeon makes $800,000 a year they should get a million because they have to sit in an office all day! This actually happened in Santa Barbara, California.
Doctors have a hard way to go with a medical education system that is outrageously tough to keep the club small, nepotistic and corrupt several other ways. No wonder they make out their bills with revenge in mind, but I did not cause this and will not pay for it. I am only too glad to present my facts to any judge knowing that issues of this kind are settled on "industry-wide practice."
Mr. Trump would be well-advised to let ObamaCare implode, but then make the effort that he has to only further expose the Pelosi-Schumer dynamic-duo saboteurs for what they are. Mr. Trump will probably stumble onto the rails I would have laid for this assault in the great tradition of Pancho Villa, a man who the Prussian War College studied for tactics. He was the greatest "make-do" war General of all time. Mr. Trump has some of Pancho's flair. "Let the damn thing die, Donald!"
