Note From Al Franken

Here's a "what if" Adrian.

What if you were stuck in a truck, in sub-zero temperatures, and couldn't get it moving. Would you stay with the truck and freeze to death, or get out and leave?

Anyone with common sense would say leave. For one trucker, this wasn't a "what if,' it was real life, and he decided to -- you guessed it -- leave.

But when the trucking company fired him, President Trump's Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch sided with the company.

The word you're looking for is "absurd."

Throughout my career I've been trained to recognize absurdity -- and there's no shortage of absurdities in this administration. Now that I'm a Senator, it's my job to fight against them.

And it's your job to help me by helping Team Franken hit goals (like our $75,000 FEC goal) before deadlines (like our FEC deadline in 4 days).

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

We have to protect affordable health care, Medicare and Medicaid, and Planned Parenthood, or millions of people will lose coverage.

We have to protect net neutrality, or big companies could have control over the content you see on the web.

There are plenty of battles ahead of us. And we know we can win together. But we can't win if we can't fight -- and we can't fight without strong support from all of you.

Send in a contribution, even if it's only $5.

Thanks!

Al

P.S.: Did I mention our FEC deadline is in 4 days? It's worth repeating, because we're still $12,150 away from reaching our $75,000 goal. Don't wait any longer -- give now.

Dear Al:

You have tellingly picked a most unfortunate case that is more one of miscommunication than law, but Judge Gorsuch was only allowed by principle to consider the law.  He did the right thing in terms of the law, which you are pointing in a way to harm his image, which may be good politics, but bad philosophy. While Judge Gorsuch is totally focused on the law you may find inappropriate it only makes him more qualified to be on the Supreme Court where only these matters are to be considered.
