Democrats and Trump Tax Returns

The American people deserve to know that our president won't be beholden to business interests or foreign powers -- and for four decades, presidents on both sides of the aisle have committed to such transparency. But Trump continues to blame everything from audits to disinterest for his cowardly refusal to release his own tax returns. This weekend, people all over the country and the world showed Donald that we won't back down until we get the truth. Today, on Tax Day, let's keep the momentum going. Add your name to stand with the marchers and call on Donald Trump to release his tax returns. ADD YOUR NAME Thank you, The Democrats ------------------------------ Dear Democrats: Ordinarily I would agree with you as showing tax returns has become fashionable in American politics, but on inspection it is not really a meaningful idea.  It may give a poor picture of a very good man but one taken at an unfortunate time including evidence of family problems that really have no bearing on the real concerns we should have about elected leaders.  If they have gone through a divorce or had a business failure through no fault of their own political enemies can make mischief with facts. Mr. Trump's tax return is professionally prepared and includes 100 pages.  Certified Public Accountants will not engage in anything nefarious as they can lose their certification and no account is worth that.  Where Mr. Trump has been involved in over 400 businesses tracking even one through that maze is well beyond a journalist, much less his readers.  Mr. Trump is audited every year, as is every billionaire, as the IRS goes where the money is and looks for errors, which are common.  Where I have owned two corporations and in spite of professional accountants had to refile five years of tax returns, doing it myself successfully, I can tell you that while the math is simple there is so much of it and instructions that would drive a wooden Indian nuts I would hate to have anyone with bad intentions to be pouring over my returns, much those of Donald J. Trump. Where Democrats and media people have shown an insane hatred for Mr. Trump they will claim to have found something nefarious in any case, I think this is a bad idea, and especially for the Democrats as you have had so many failures of late, we really have to wonder how many you can take an this is one virtually guaranteed to turn out badly for you as the evidence will ultimately exonerate Mr. Trump.  Stop and think:  If you should ever succeed in your dream of removing Mr. Trump you will not get Hillary.  You will get a very conservative Evangelical Christian President Pence so kiss Roe vs Wade goodbye and if he gets to appoint two more Supreme Court Justices you can be very sure you will hate them.  Better settle in for Mr. Trump.
