We're putting the pressure on the GOP -- and it's working! Now, let us know how you plan to keep up the fight.
Adrian, you've got the GOP on the ropes. Thousands of you have showed up at Republican members of Congress' town halls this month, demanding answers about their plans to repeal the Affordable Care Act. You've flooded the Capitol phone lines, calling on your senators to oppose Trump's nominees. Here at DNC HQ, we just marked a major milestone: more than one million grassroots Democrats have taken action online in 2017, and you're one of them. (This is the earliest we've ever hit that mark in any year -- ever -- thanks to you.) We're making our voices heard -- and it's working, but we've go to keep it up. Can you commit to keeping the pressure on the GOP? Trust me, Adrian, Republicans in Congress are feeling the pressure we're putting on them. And they're running scared. They've started to shut off their phones and cancel town halls in their districts. At a closed-door meeting, some House Republicans discussed plotting escape routes the next time they go home to their constituents. More than a thousand Utahns showed up for a town hall hosted by Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and asked him to do his job. Chaffetz's only response was to dismiss them as paid -- even though reporters couldn't find a single attendee who had been paid to be there. Republicans know their constituents are angry, Adrian. But they also know there's a long time until the 2018 election -- 631 days! -- and they're counting on all that energy fading away. The only way we stop the GOP from taking health care away from millions, rolling back Wall Street reform, defunding Planned Parenthood, and attacking our immigrant neighbors is if they think they will lose their seats over it. So we have to keep up the fight, Adrian. There are a lot of ways to stay involved: showing up at town halls or district offices, calling members of Congress, attending demonstrations, writing letters to the editor, signing your name to petitions, or making a donation to help Democrats fight back. No matter what you plan to do, make sure you're on record that you'll stand up to the GOP. Add your name right now if you're ready to fight: Thanks, Eric Walker, Deputy Communications Director Democratic National Committee ------------------------------------------- Eric: You may think your tricks are working, but I believe the American people see these paid antagonists for what they are and be sure they will be exposed as some will become disenchanted and talk or complain in social media. We know they will not be documented in the major media as they are part and parcel of it for the same reason Hollywood is on your side. It is no secret digital media is killing the theatrical film and music businesses as anybody can be a film-maker or recording artist with low-cost equipment. The money men in news and entertainment are looking to government to guarantee their investments through socialism! Why am I not surprised you cannot you see something is wrong with that plan?
