Amy Schumer
Now it seems they say things just to hear themselves talk, because Mr. Trump is the President-elect and all of those stars are still here, but some have made interesting and entertaining excuses:
Amy Schumer
Actress and comedian Amy Schumer released a lengthy Instagram
https://www.instagram.com/p/BMmIdouDJgJ/ in which she explained her threat to move to London was "jest, just part of the act," but she rest of the post writes off Trump voters as "disgusting," "weak," "misinformed," and, ironically, "kicking and screaming babies." She then whines about the results of a fair and democratic election that broke her heart into "a million pieces." She also praises herself for not getting paid to support Clinton, claiming it wasn't a problem because she is "fortunate enough to make a high income."
Amy has great talents as a writer, producer and performer, but she could clean up her act and apply her mind to the issues and become a more positive force, but then her cousin is Senator Charles Schumer so perhaps Amy is just another expression of flawed genetics.
Lena Dunham
A few days later, she had another idea almost as brilliant as moving to Canada: asking rocks for advice posting to Instagram
https://www.instagram.com/p/BMx3oUultvS/?taken-by=lenadunham a "selfie" in Arizona with the caption, "Asked the Canyon for some guidance." She said this week is going to be revolutionary, and so I threw my arms open and said 'bring it.'"
George Lopez
The only celebrity to suggest he may follow through with the move is actor and comedian George Lopez. He too posted to Instagram
https://www.instagram.com/p/BMl8lyXg4s1/?taken-by=georgelopez that he was going to rent first and get to know the schools. In the meantime, he is still living in the states and is actively posting his thoughts on Trump to Instagram.
Al Sharpton
Civil rights activist Al Sharpton claimed he'd be out of here if Trump won. But now that it's time to pack his bags, Sharpton can't follow through. He told TMZ, "All of us said that. That was said in jest. We're not going anywhere." We can only say that at least Al Sharpton is consistent in being inconsistent, but it has worked for him as he remains out of jail in spite of $4 million in unpaid Federal Income taxes.
All the remaining celebrities who have made such statements, as reported by The Horn News saying they would leave Trump's America, have conveniently ignored the fact that they even made such statements, but we have to again wonder why so many people put so much stock in people who only recite what other people write for them? Putting so much stock in such people is our basic mistake.
Donald Trump is the first person in modern American political history who has said what he really thinks. All the rest have been programmed with innocuous drivel to offend no one unless someone put up a lot of money to get them to support a position or cause.
In addition to the actors, one person of consequence has announced that she will leave the country if Mr. Trump becomes President of the United States: Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg has declared she will leave. This would create a huge opportunity for Mr. Trump as he could really load the Supreme Court with conservative Justices in a way that would guide the nation for a long time.
