The Art of the Disaster II

The great secret of the strength of the Toledo swords used in the bullrings of Spain was forging; hammering and folding a billet many times to build layers of strength in the blade.  Donald Trump is a flesh-and-blood embodiment of that principle as he certainly has been forged by the events of the last two days.  And he was certainly strong in his performance at Washington University.

The great entertainment of the evening was to watch it on MSNBC and see Brian Lyin Williams, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Eugene (gasp) Robinson of the Washington Post who needs serious speech coaching in spite of frequent appearance on MSNBC.  Their complaints were clear documentation of the fact Mr. Trump pulled his iron out of the fire.

The moderators, Martha Radditz and Anderson Cooper were clearly leaning to Hillary, but Mr. Trump overcame their bias in his own way of talking over with power.  Nonetheless, Martha and Anderson were more fair than any others we have seen in 20 years.

The great highlight of the evening was when a fly landed on Hillary, with snickers from the audience, and we hoped Mr. Trump would have interrupted with something like, "You know what they say about flies.  They always look for shit and he found it," but Donald did not go for it.  We are sure much of the audience, especially TV, were thinking it.

Certainly the "Hollywood Access" tape was an issue, but to understand it we must consider the great difference in the way men and women appreciate each other.

A man looks for a beautiful woman, one with a slim symmetrical body and face, but a woman looks for what a man is: his strength, success, wealth, reputation and finally what he smells like.  Especially his underarm odor.  She will think her brother's underarm odor stinks, but a candidate man may smell wonderful to her.  She will not be intimate with him until he has passed the smell test. Biochemically, it tells her of his immunities and if they are different from her's they will give offspring greater disease defense.  We truly live in two different worlds.

Women will think about this man and they will decide the election. Where the country is clearly in a precarious state they will naturally be inclined to vote for a strong men who will defend them, much as they were more exited by the Captain of the football team in high school than the nerds who won Science awards.

If there are more document dumps on Hillary or any backlashes from the State Department or White House, she will drop off the screen, but this may well be a horse race all the way to the finish line.
