Mrs. Gifford Attacks Trump

When I heard Donald Trump say that "Second Amendment people" can do something about it if they don't like Hillary's judicial appointments, I knew his allies in the gun lobby would stand by him. In reality, they did him one better:

The NRA went on Twitter to defend Trump's remarks -- then they announced that they're launching a new attack ad spreading lies and calling Hillary vicious names. They're spending $3 million to show it to voters in pivotal states.

I have no intention of letting the gun lobby decide the outcome of this election -- if 19 people from Lakeport chip in today, that will be a great start toward getting the funds Hillary and Democrats on the ballot in California need to fight back. Can you help with $3 or whatever you can?

The gun lobby has deep pockets, and they'll spend whatever it takes to keep their Republican allies in control of Congress. Donald Trump has made it clear he'll do whatever they say -- so they're going to spend millions and millions of dollars to try to help him win.

Hillary isn't afraid of the NRA. She's courageous, and if she's president, she'll take on the gun lobby in Washington, just like she has her entire career. That's why I'm fighting for my friend Hillary -- I'm so glad you are, too.

The NRA doesn't decide the future of our country -- we do. Chip in $3 or whatever you can right now, and let's show the NRA that however hard they fight for Donald Trump, we'll fight back even harder for Hillary.

Dear Mrs. Gifford:

My heart, as well as that of America, I am sure, goes out to you for what you have suffered for only being an elected legislator, but with all due respect, believe you are in error on this issue.

The reason you were shot is that the perpetrator knew he was in a "Gun Free Zone" and thought he could get away with it.  If even one licensed concealed weapon carrying citizen had been there you may not have been shot, as he attacked others first, but even more important:  Had that shooter known it was possible a licensed concealed carrying citizen could be there he would not have undertaken that mission.  These people do not want to die; they are opportunistic cowards looking to stupidly set up situations. 

Mr. Trump did not suggest Hillary, or anyone, should be shot.  He only suggested something be done, certainly legal, like not voting for her.  To accuse him as you and so many Democrats are is a slur, an error and highly offensive.

Hillary Clinton abused her office to collect millions for the Clinton Foundation that is on record for distributing less than 10% of their contributions to charitable work.  Tax free, they are miles ahead of a business as all are now paying 35% on profits and Mrs. Clinton wants 47% from them should be become President.  That alone will destroy millions of jobs as more companies will have to move offshore to stay in business.

I am offended that you say, "I have no intention of letting the gun lobby decide the outcome ..." as you are not a dictator, but you are working for a regime that wants to have one.  Are you part of the plot or only duped by it?

I am offended that you think money determines outcomes in our politics.  That seems a bizarre concept for someone on the left seeking to crush all down to the same level as in the old Soviet Union or the quilted coat days of Mao's China.  The Pilgrims proved socialism does not work. What takes you people so long to get it? Or is it only that you want to be on top and socialism dupes the young who believe in Santa Clauses?
