If you have paid attention to politics for more than 20 years you must wonder where the nation is today. Occasionally some wag comes along and sums it up wonderfully in a few words. To wit:
"I took down my Rebel flag, which you can’t buy on EBAY any more, and peeled the NRA sticker off my front window. I disconnected my home alarm system and quit the candy-ass Neighborhood Watch. I bought two Pakistani flags and put one at each corner of the front yard. Then I purchased the black flag of ISIS, which you CAN buy on EBAY, and ran it up the flag pole.
Now the local police, sheriff, FBI, CIA, NSA, Homeland Security, Secret Service and other agencies are all watching my house 24/7. I’ve never felt safer and I’m saving $69.95 a month that ADT used to charge me. Plus, I bought burkas for my wife and I to wear when we shop or travel. Everyone moves out of the way and security can’t pat us down. If they say I'm a male wearing a burka, I just say I'm feeling like a woman today. Hot Damn! Safe at last! Ain’t America great!"
This may be a gag and it may not, but it is creative thinking of the kind we need to use strategically in the fighting of the war we are in: World War III, Islam versus the world; a war without declaration, forts and fortifications, moats, embattlements, uniforms or traditional strategies, tactic weapons or rules. The participants are the people, the attackers not in uniform, the weapons are anything that can be adapted to the killing of the enemy, the "infidels," from airliners, to Uzi, AR15, Glocks, shotguns, pressure cookers, trucks of all kinds, you name it...
The Geneva Conventions and traditional Rules of War do not apply. This is a war to end war as we have known it and win with the element of total surprise. To respond we need to change the mind of America.
