Happily Ever After!

The Clintons must be pulling their hairs out on the Melania Trump gaff over the Michelle Obama "SpeechGate" kerfuffel when it turns out Melania was on record saying she really likes Michelle Obama as quoted by Trump staff writer Meredith McIver in her apologia and resignation!  The idiot Democrat noncoms walked into this with empty guns, like those Hillary called for in Benghazi in order not the offend the local Al Qaeda chapter.  You cannot make this stuff up!

Now the hard-nose, old-line press, root routing print and TV people have discovered Michelle Obama lifted the lines from a speech Libby Dole gave in San Diego at a Republican shindig so Michelle comes out wearing an omelet without having said one word!  We do not expect to hear from her.

The truth of the matter is there are limited ways to express such sentiments and there certainly was no obvious evil intent on the part of Melania Trump.   But, boy did she ever set Michelle up, whether she intended to or not, and poor Michelle has not said a word!  Gentlemen, this is the way ladies do battle.  It happens so fast most of us guys never see or hear the bullets, but they are flying.

As I have previously noted, I have been around a few of these ladies and was aware enough to realize I was in a presence of a higher intelligence.  (See Nancy Smith)  However, any man who has been through elementary school knows women are smarter.  We men are the mules, draught animals, of our species.  We do heavy lifting, deal with garbage, kill things to eat and make money, and maybe some other stuff, once in a while...

I am not accusing Melania of any skullduggery as this is the kind of thing well-meaning, genuine people stumble into.  She probably really likes what Michelle says, but most of it is scripted for effect by a committee of really smart Harvard educated word wizards. Michelle uses a TelePrompTer(tm) too.  The worst of her possible sins is that Melania has good taste plus the important difference that she means it and believes what she says.  Whether or not that is the case with Michelle Obama we do not know as it is not yet apparent.  She is going to wear, "...this is the first time in my life I am proud of my country" remark forever.

The Trumps put a cherry on the Sundae by not accepting Meredith McIver's offer to resign and the only possible ending to this story is "and they all lived happily ever after."
