Transgendered or Transabled?

The Bruce Jenner story brings into focus a closely related phenomenon for the 1.8% percent of men wanting to be women.  They usually only go so far as to wear female clothing and imitate their ways.  This is an exceptional reaction to learning "girls are different" when you are three years old.  You may come away from that envying their power, but very occasionally much more.

The story is coming into focus as a "Transabled" phenomenon and includes people who harm themselves to gain attention or sympathy in victimhood.  It has gone so far that in the late 1990s Scottish surgeon Dr. Robert Smith amputated the legs of two perfectly healthy patients at their request.  The surgery was under the UK National Health Service and each patient was paid $6,000 for their legs; then given disability pensions !  This is socialism gone amok!

The affliction includes people who want to be made deaf, blind or disabled in some way so deeply is their desire for attention or victimhood!  It is an extension of the "pity me" power psychology of liberals, usually minorities, for whom it is a path to power.  Where females are the attractors of our species, unlike birds where males are the pretty sex, the same thinking process could lead a person to a desire to be female and take the attractor role.

In the case of Bruce Jenner, a man who clearly sought public approval in athletics the driving force in his life took a strange turn at some point as it was just not enough for him to have been a famous athlete.  He had to have more and his warped mind led him to change sex.

From the published accounts Mr. Jenner has not endured sex alteration surgery, which exists and pioneered at Johns Hopkins Hospital.  Now they have turned on it, (LINK) , classifying it as a treatable mental illness.  Add to that, it is common for subjects to become addicted to pain medication during the recovery period as those body parts are replete with pain sensors and recover very slowly.  It is said to be the most difficult surgery to recover from without becoming a drug addict given all the pain-control medication one must take.  Bear in mind even this surgery cannot make a man a woman.  Every cell of a woman's body is different from every cell of a man's body.  You are what you were born to be and that's it!  "Transgendered" is a false concept. 

This is clearly an area where high professional standards and laws need to written and enforced.  These are medical-psychiatric problems that have to be treated such that the sufferer can understand what he is trying to do is not sensible, safe or sane.  The parallels in this phenomenon to liberalism are stunning; both are a form or mental illness!
