About This Blog

 (c) 2018 by Adrian Vance

We have topped 4,500 posts, enough material to fill 130 fiction novels, but this is not fiction.  It is a searchable database system:  Input a keyword to the search routine in the upper right corner of your screen and a list of pieces will drop down, click on any one to put on the screen. This is like a brain, but it never forgets.  The parts are all over the place, but all are instantly accessible.

Broadcasters:  We put audio tracks on selected pieces for you to use as inserts, actualities or topic intros for talk shows.  Scroll down the Archive.org page for the downloadable file formats.   All are PD,  free of the seven forbidden words as I hold an FCC Commercial Operators License and want to keep it.   Please use these recordings freely.

Most will be between three to five minutes, with lengths given, and all designed for topic introduction.   We generate audio tracks where the material both calls for and lends well to on-air use.

We are also posting longer-form pieces, about 1,000 words instead of our usual 400 words for political blogs.  Some may be of interest as short features as they will be five to seven minutes on-air and ideal fill for your first segment after top-of-the-hour news if you are using the usual AM seven segment "clock," broadcast schedule.

We here make a US Copyright claim as we are using the material in other media, but you can use any pieces on your broadcast, blog, email or newspaper opinion page if you provide a link to this site, URL in print.  We tag with "This is Adrian Vance" for broadcast so authorship and performer ID are covered per FCC regs.

We do not want to inhibit the promotion of this material in any way, but have to declare title in order to use them in other media.  Please slug pieces you use as "From "The Two Minute Conservative" on the Internet."  Any search system will bring them here.

You can click on the opening page, pick anything interesting or input a key word to the box in the upper right corner and see a list and several pieces displayed from which to choose.  Show-prep can reduce to searching here, transfer recorded titles, then punch them up on-air. All are air-ready with short sentences in three to five word blocking for breath control and sibilant elimination.

Most pieces are 400 to 450 words which is three minutes on-air reading time at the usual 130 to 150 word per minute on-air rate. They are perfect for an "after the news" first break, three to four minute show intro, before the first spot. They chop easily as the concept leads.  We do not tease with "I am going to reveal to you..." or any other such BS.  This is all "up front" presentation.

With following program segments of six to seven minutes you have time to add local color, spin or discuss and take calls.  We have enough material here for over 400 one-hour shows.

We have a long-form, fully-scripted show blog for broadcasters at adrianvanceshow.blogspot.com  aimed at Internet radio, public broadcasting and as a podcasting blog. Each includes spot pauses for breaks on a 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50th minute radio clock schedule with ten second breaks that work well on public non-commercial stations without commercial traffic (ads) as well as easy stop points for commercial stations as long as your engineer is awake and watching the clock "big hand."  They work well for commercial broadcasters having the usual 44 minutes of program time.

Our search input box in the upper right corner selects groups on any topic if you input a name, word or concept. It takes only lower case inputs. Clicking on the date works better than clicking on the title.

We think you will find this function convenient when you want to find or re-read a particular topic.  We have over 4500 pieces, more than enough for 54 novel-length books and here release these pieces for attribution alone to newspapers, broadcasters and bloggers.  We are much more interested in promoting the ideas than anything, but want to develop the full potential of the material and are seeking wider audiences.  For that we must claim copyright under the law.

Clicking on a title shows the body of the piece.  Look for hyperlinks within for documentation and explanation of anything complicated; in need of illumination or identification of source. We are careful to cover such matters, especially for our science, math and economics pieces.  However, much of the material is original.

Where in the past we would do one or two pieces a week we now do one a day.  We welcome and run contributions as long as they do not exceed 500 words, are interesting, well-written and not commercial.   We will make exceptions for important pieces. We reserve the right to edit to fit our format and style.

You can choose from any of seven formats by putting your pointer on and listed format in the upper left corner of the screen.  Then click on the format you like to see and the blog converts instantly.

Next to "Flipcard" you will see a “Pages” dropdown menu tab that includes up to 25 references, expanded explanations, history notes, etc. that we link to from display pieces.  It has three full pages of titles so look for the paging tab in the upper right corner.

On the right side your pointer arrow will activate a popout for “Blogs we recommend,” “Archive,” “Followers” and “Subscribers” both of the last two you can join for daily free emailed pieces.

We removed the "moderation" trap from the comment input, but have the "spam" detector running.  These give you instant access to the discussion, but keep out fake Rolex, etc, ads.  We can, and will, remove anything that is insane, threatening, objectionable or offensive as soon as we know of it.

If you want to post opinions anonymously please use a pseudonym rather than "Anonymous" as we get many and they are confusing. Use "Red Ryder," "Batman" or "Captain Marvelous, Gay Superhero" so people can respond to or comment on your post.

Our original concept was to make available to other talk show hosts topic introductions I was using when on the air regularly.  They are ideally two to four minute pieces that can precede any show segment to introduce new topics and generate calls.  They are also usable by opinion page newspaper editors as they are “tight,”  “lean-and-mean,” short paragraphs and well cut.

We urge you to "clip" and send our pieces to friends and local opinion page editors.  Up to 3,000 people read these every day.  If each person sent ten copies we would cover America in three iterations. We have had over four million viewings and 98.6% have come to us in the last four years of our years on line. In the first three years we did not know what to do with this medium then the Obama Administration fell on us, but well defined a need we now try to fill.

To "clip" a piece do a "ctrl A, ctrl C" or start at the top or bottom, hold down the left key of your mouse and drag the pointer over the text.  It will then be covered with blue or black and the letters will be white.  When it is all covered release the key. If the highlight persists do a "Control - C" from your keyboard by holding down the "Control" key and punching the "C" key once.  The highlighted text will be on your "clipboard" until replaced with something else thus you can paste it into emails or a Word file.

  3. Perhaps the nicest feature is that you actually have your choice of eight formats if you click on the format dropdown menu on the left side of the control bar.

    Enjoy, Adrian

  4. It took me several days to figure out that there was an article behind each of the pictures. Before today (Sat.) I thought perhaps you had just put up an array of images as a placeholder while you went on vacation or were ill. Perhaps you could add something like "(click here for) latest post".

  5. I put a note line on the header in response to your suggestion.

While I think most computer users would use the mouse clicker, but your suggestion if valid nonetheless.

  6. Off topic:

I live in Western Washington State aka. Southern California north. I recently attended a wedding and was sitting in a pew waiting for the ceremony to begin. Behind me there were two gentlemen who began talking politics. Their first point was that if you compare the blue states to the red states, the biggest difference was that the education system in the blue states were so much better than the red states. I was surprised that they separate their shoulders patting their backs over their intellectual superiority. I knew these gentleman's occupation, one was a a software engineer, the other an organizational management consultant. While both occupations undoubtedly add value to an organization, neither actually create a physical asset.

The most appalling to me was when they went on to call all the people in red states ignorant hicks. The fact that those very "hicks" actually produced the majority of the food, clothes and other products they voraciously consume didn't seem to phase them.

Wanting to respect the couples celebration we were attending, I declined to engage them in debate.

One of the most disturbing aspect of this attitude which is typical of the liberals here is the sheer unwillingness to even recognize that their fellow citizens are their equals. It was very apparent that these folks would be absolutely willing to override the Constitution (which they regard with derision) and take control the country, for the good of the common people of course.

    Vote Romney!!!

    1. I see that this is an old post, but I too live in Western Washington state. I was talking to my husband in a local Lowe's store and was accosted by a rabid Obama supporter who had eavesdropped on our Romney for president conversation. I couldn't get through to him. It's frustrating. He got so upset that I was afraid that the store employees who were circling us were going to ask us ALL to leave. PS The guy was older than us and should have known better than to try to defend the indefensible with specious, untruthful and outlandish arguments.

    2. You live in an area that has become liberal as a matter of defense: Young Microsoft millionaires professing liberalism, much like Warren Buffet, defensively. As well there are many like Chris Matthews who are scared to death of Negros and make as much noise about being "pro-black" as they can so any black guy with a razor and bad attitude will not attack them. And...

We appear to have a large population who fear being called racist in spite of the fact where they have lived in a time when they could not abuse a "black" person in any way other than avoid him or her. That's a crime?

  7. Very scary, and I am sure very accurate, report of America today. I have an MBA lady friend in Redmond, WA who thought the electric car charging stations proposed for the I5 freeway that brings everything to your state would be giving free charges! That is the mindset of these people. They are living the world of nine year-olds believing in Santa Claus and if you try to tell them the truth they go nuts.

    2. Exactly. Look at the unions: As soon as they found they would have to pay for ObamaCare they rebelled to say nothing of Congress that has now exempted themselves and will soon include all Federal employees. Only we get stuck.

  9. I am a dyslexic idiot. No formal comp training at all. I found your page the easiest to navigate and best format I personally attempt to read. I am taken aback by the criticisms of it and having to get used to it. Been reading for acouple years now. I sincerely hope your info "gets out there"! You couldn't have made it easier unless you did their work for them...Oh you did! LOL!

  10. Thank you for your endorsement. I had a more ordinary, vertical stack and went to this thinking most people would like it, and they have, but there are always a few that object.

    Thanks, Adrian

  12. Just discovered your blog and have been happily munching away on it. You're on the right track, Sir, stick to your guns and let the naysayers find someone else to pick on. We've come a ways since 2012 and it has not been a fun ride for most of us. Been telling my friends about you for a week now and at least a few of them will camp out here from time to time.
