"Whee!!!" Representative Bill Pascrell D-NJ
Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) demands the126 House Republicans that supported a lawsuit challenging the 2020 Presidential election not be seated during the upcoming Congressional term that starts next month.
“Stated simply, men and women who would act to tear the United States government apart cannot serve as Members of the Congress,” Pascrell said in a statement.
“These lawsuits seeking to obliterate
public confidence in our democratic system by invalidating the clear results of
the 2020 presidential election undoubtedly attack the text and spirit of the
Constitution, which each Member swears to support and defend.” Representative Pascrell does not realize we are not a "democracy" but a representative republic as a democracy requires every citizen of his majority (over 18) has a vote or "say" in every national consideration, law, Dollar spent, etc. Can Pascrell spell "i-n-s-a-n-e?"
He continued, “Consequently, I call on you to exercise the power of your offices to evaluate steps you can take to address these Constitutional violations this Congress and, if possible, refuse a seat in the 117th Congress any Members-elect seeking to make Donald Trump an unelected dictator.”
In a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Pascrell
noted the “courageous Reconstruction Congress implanted into our governing
document safeguards to cleanse from our government ranks any traitors and
others who would seek to destroy the Union.” And continuing...
“Just as the American people’s clear vote in support of President-elect Biden must be respected, so too must votes cast in favor of our Members-elect,” he continued. “But the actions of any of our colleagues to demolish democracy, regardless of party affiliation, must be repudiated in the strongest possible terms. Rising from the embers of the Civil War, the Fourteenth Amendment was written to prevent the destruction of the United States from without and within. The moment we face now may be without parallel since 1860. The fate of our democracy depends on us meeting that moment." The 14th Amendment states:
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
“This week 126 republican members of Congress tried to overturn the election and have Donald Trump declared an unelected dictator,” he claimed. “Never ever forget it.”

This stentorious old gasbag is a classic denizen of Congress in the tradition of Senator Everett M. Dirksen who served in both the House and Senate from 1932 on into the 1950's with his deep-throated profundity resonating in the halls of Congress was something to behold. Serious as he could be he never seemed to know he had become a caricature that inspired newspaper cartoonists of the time as well as radio comedians Bob and Ray who did devastating imitations of the great Senator.
I saw him speak a couple of times as I was growing up in down-state Illinois and it was just wonderful as you knew you were seeing something that would soon pass into the mists of time only to be one of the greatest Senatorial gasbags in history. To us he was, "A gas!!!"
In one of those speeches he said "our democracy" several times and it struck me that we do not have a "democracy" but a representative republic wherein we elected people like Senator Dirksen to represent us and speak for us and that he was too damn smart not to know that!
Plato said of "democracy" "...it can only function with no more than 30 people. Now I think he overstated the case and that 12 is more like it. So what was he saying? It took me a long time to realize all these old gasbags were talking about the Democratic Party! And, that this simple phrase was the key to whole deception. "What I say you think is of we is for me." The whole of this bunch is a deception for power. Nothing less. It is just that simple and the birth of my understanding of our politics.

I often wondered how in the world do as many complete idiots get elected to congress and locally as they do. Now it has become clear. Election fraud! Nothing else can explain the re-election of Kim Foxx here in crook co. I have spoken with many fellow veterans at the VA, of all backgrounds, and no one supports her Soros inspired "reformative justice" claptrap. No or little bond, no prosecution, ect.
ReplyDeleteThat has always been a mystery to me too. Perhaps that is the only way that can get some of the more insufferable jerks out-of-town. There has to be some reason. I have observed politics becomes some family's business. I went to high school with the niece of Adelai E. Stephenson, a member of the House and Presidential candidate in the primary round. She married a guy from another such family and the standing joke in the town was "They only have sex under an American flag."
ReplyDeleteToday it would be a Chinese flag as that is where their money comes from..
DeleteWell, you didn't know Alice. She would be a stickler for tradition, but you do make a good point and I may revise my answer. Watch this space...
