Pennsylvania Leads The Way

It would seem Mr. Trump's focus on Pennsylvania is paying off as we see he has excited the Amish community to support his tenure. While the Amish are few in number they are an important group as they represent a serious, successful segment of our citizens.

Here nine buggies with American and Trump campaign flags were seen trotting along a street in the hinterlands of Pennsylvania.  This could be a good indicator of the Trump strength with the people as the Amish are very conservative and have clearly made the judgement that much of what is said by Democrats about Mr. Trump is not true.

While the Amish tend to live independently of the economy as they can, but they are aware of it.  As well, they are sensitive to social and religious attitudes and realities of elected officials and clearly approve of President Donald J. Trump.

The video of the buggy caravan was first posted on Monday evening, but continued to be shared on Tuesday morning of the day of voting. You know it’s going to be a landslide when the Amish start to rally and create their own Trump Train.  The Amish are held in high regard in Pennsylvania for their family lives, crime free communities and clean living.

We think the interest and approval of the Amish is significant as they have very limited, if not zero, exposure to major media.  This means they have to make their decisions on their own experience.  They have observed a more civil and economically stable America in the Trump years despite the violence in Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis and smaller municipalities around the nation, all run by elected Democrats!  Every one!

What the Amish hear of the outside world is by word of mouth, occasional press, usually magazine or national newspapers they do not read, but see in the racks in supermarkets and drug stores.  These apparently do not darken their assessment of the Trump Administration.

Republicans have courted the Amish constituency as they are politically conservative. Some Amish were seen at a recent Trump rally in Lilitz, Pennsylvania.

In August 2019, the Pittsburg Post-Gazette reported a political action committee called "Amish PAC" was building support in southeastern Pennsylvania for Trump’s reelection.  With the rolling fields and farms, most people don’t think of Lancaster County, home to one of the largest Amish settlements in the U.S., as a political hub. But it quietly hosts a number of politically active Amish an invisible part of the voting population that helped turn the state red in the 2016 presidential election.   There are 76,000 Amish living in Pennsylvania so they are a larger voting block than most would think.

Ben King, a former member of the Amish community and the Outreach Director for Amish PAC, said Amish voters came out for Trump in 2016 due to concern over a liberally stacked Supreme Court. “I’d say the primary thing that brought the Amish out to vote was the Supreme Court,” he told the Post-Gazette, but we think this is selling the Amish short as they would require a deeper understanding of any issue as the legends about them confirm.

It has been documented 90 percent of Amish are registered Republicans. Academics that study the Amish predicted that Amish voters in Pennsylvania would vote for Trump again in 2020 and they have no regret for having voted for him in 2016.

  1. I have never seen a set of people so in denial of the outcome of an election. In my district for the house of representatives 93% of the vote has been counted. The republican is ahead by 10% in the race but the district is only shown as leaning red. Not a full out win. There is another district I can see where the republican is ahead by 15% with 6% left to count and it is only called leaning Red. (What a bunch of Maroons), as Bugs bunny used to say.
