Sorry DNC:

NASA has withdrawn this statement saying it only had "a 38% probability of being true!" They could give the Clintons lessons in covering lies. Why are you now repeating it?

While the men above are politicians there is no excuse for anyone who had junior high school General Science not knowing how the atmosphere works.  It is a simple mixture of gases 97% of which do not capture heat from sunlight.   Three percent do and water vapor is 99.8% of that.  CO2 is 0.39% of the infrared capturing gas in air, but it is only 1/7th as good at capturing infrared heat energy so water vapor is responsible for 99.8% of all heating of the atmosphere when you do the math.  

Furthermore, the people who study the atmosphere are not really scientists as they do no experiments.  "Experiment" is one of the seven steps in the Scientific Method.  If your work does not involve experiments you are not a scientist.  You are most likely a statistician, like naturalists tracking trends, or a practioner using diagnosis and a pharmacopea, like doctors, but the only physicians that are really scientists are those experimenting with new drugs, surgeries and procedures.  Hopefully you are not an experimental subject but getting the consequences of experimental work.
