A State with No Republicans!"
Only one state has no Republicans in elective office at the state level That state is Illinois. It is a Democratic Nirvana and not the small town there of the same name. What are the realities for this political paradise?
There are more people on welfare in Illinois than there are employed persons. Chicago pays the highest wages to teachers than anywhere in the United States. Average teacher salary is $110,000 per year. And, pensions are 80% to 90% of their income. The fund to pay for this is fiscally not viable, but no one seems to realize that if it falls into bankruptcy no one will get anything.
Keeping the peace: In the last six months there were 292 murders in Chicago while 221 were killed in Iraq. Chicago has one of the strictest set of gun laws in the United States. But, the US Supreme Court appears to be unwraveling all of these laws.
Holders of elective office:
Senator: Dick Durbin · House Representative: Jesse Jackson Jr. · Governor: Pat Quinn · House leader: Mike Madigan · Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike) · Mayor: Rohm Emanuel · The leadership in Illinois - all Democrats.
These are the people responsible for "The battle of Chicago" fought on the streets every night and day. The police cannot keep the peace; the first obligation of the elected ruling class.
Chicago school system is rated one of the worst in the country with the highest dropout rate and the lowest national test scores. Blame Republicans? There aren't any and there have not been many for a century.
State pension fund is $78 billion in debt, worst in country. Can't blame Republicans...
Cook County (Chicago) sales tax is10.25%, the highest in country. Can't blame Republicans...
This is the political culture that President Obama is from and he was going to 'fix' Washington politics? He certainly has done that while covering his tracks with phony statistics about the unemployment rate which he keeps low by not counting all the folks he says, "Have dropped out of the workforce." Really? Who asked and counted them? Data? Documentation? None forthcoming.
Former Governor George Ryan is in prison and he was replaced by Rob Blagojevich who is in prison. Three other Illinois Governors have been in prison since 1950.
Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned recently, because he and his wife are both on their way to prison for having misappropriated campaign funds in the millions of Dollars.
As long as Democrats continue providing unearned entitlements to the voters of Chicago, nothing is going to change, except the state will be bankrupt and then everybody gets nothing, but few seem to realize it. What happens when this population with a proclivity to violence awakens to that reality?
Anybody who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him should tour an Indian reservation, East Germany in "the good old days," or North Korea today.
Let us not forget Detroit is the city where every Democrat dream came true and it is happening in Wisconsin too in spite of the only Governor in history who beat a recall election in spite of millions of union Dollars spent on trying to remove him from office.
A recent "Investor's Business Daily" article provided very interesting statistics from a survey by the United Nations International Health Organization which no major media has reported, but we can here see as a document of the great successes of socialism.
Percentages of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis:
U.S. ......65%
England..46%
Canada..42%
Percentages of patients diagnosed with diabetes who received treatment within six months:

England .15%
Canada .43%
Percentages of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six months:
U.S. .......90%
England .15%
Canada .43%

National Health Insurance?
U.S. .........NO

Canada ..YES
The percentage of each past president's cabinet who had worked in the private business sector prior to their appointment to the cabinet.
The private business sector is a business, not a government job.
Here are the percentages:
T. Roosevelt.....................38%
Taft..................................40%
Wilson .............................52%
Harding............................49%
Coolidge...........................48%
Hoover ............................42%
F. Roosevelt......................50%
Truman.............................50%
Eisenhower.......................57%
Kennedy...........................30%
Johnson............................47%
Nixon...............................53%
Ford.................................42%
Carter...............................32%
Reagan.............................56%
GH Bush..........................51%
Clinton ............................39%
GW Bush..........................55%
Obama...............................8%
This helps to explain the incompetence of this administration. Only 8% of them have ever worked in private business! Most come from academia and have no practical experience. And, these people are telling our big corporations how to run their businesses!
How can the President of the United States, that has had the most successful economic system in world history, lecture business when he's never worked in one? Or talk about jobs when he has never had one? And when it's the same story for 92% of his senior staff and closest advisers? God bless Affirmative Action and a liberal press not doing its job of telling the facts, much less the truth.
The Administration's people spent most of their time in academia, Government or non-profit jobs as "community organizers," a synonym for trouble maker. They should have been in an employment line.
Isn't it amazing that major media has never reported any of these facts? And, they claim to be in the news business? They are not.
As one of the great philosophers of all time wrote: "One of the penalties of not participating in politics is that you will be governed by your inferiors." - Plato And, Illinois is every Democrats dream.

This is a goldmine (I almost keyed in 'goldmind') of facts and superbly presented. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThank you and we aim to please and supply you with enough material to use at a dinner party loaded with Democrats so effectively you are never invited back. It has always worked for me.
ReplyDeleteI cannot understand why no one in proximity of obama will get in his face and call him on any of this in earshot of our "media". It would certainly be a news worthy event.
ReplyDeleteMany books and movies have been done about arrogant leaders who would not listen to their advisors or were so intimidating that the advisers would not advise.
DeleteObama strikes me like a guy who does not accept criticism or even bad news and everything I read and see fit that profile.
I was thinking less about his advisers, and more about members of the public and political opposition.
DeleteSorry, Adrian, but I think you got sucked in
ReplyDeleteI don't buy the 2nd part of this report. While I couldn't find any actual reference to the Investor's Business Daily article this purportedly came from, there were many uses of the text that were virtually or actually word for word what you posted here. Not one of those other postings had an actual link to the IBD article in question. I found them dating back to 2010.
Given the quantity of those unsourced repostings over the last four years I'm disinclined to believe that the stats did come from an IBD article and I doubt that the WHO (World Health Organization, not International Health Organization, which use itself should have raised the red flag) has any such info arranged that way separately or together. I'm therefore disinclined to believe the stats themselves.
I did find an interesting set of stats on cancer survival rates from 2007: http://politicalcalculations.blogspot.com/2007/10/closer-look-at-cancer-survival-rates.html#.UtBoFt00l0g
The 3rd part of the report on the cabinet members would require some more research time to verify, and I don't have that time right now. Given that it's included with these probably bogus health numbers in every posting I found, I'd be suspicious of them, too.
I'll do some checking. This was sent by a lady friend who did not want to be named, but she is usually reliable and given everything else that has been happening lately, to say nothing of what I have in preparation, none of this seemed out of line. Chicago is on its' way to being another Detroit and just look at that!
ReplyDeleteI had no problem with the Chicago section -- the 1st part of the article -- although I didn't check it as I did the other two parts. Chicago is a wreck and seems to be the canary in the mine.
DeleteHaving grown up down-state, we always felt Chicago was not part of Illinois and were all hoping it would go away....
DeleteIllinois does have a few Republicans in elected office. Sen. Mark Kirk, Rino from Chicago. The few Republicans in the congressional delegation are quiet back benchers. The Illinois Republican party is in such disarray that when Obama took out their Senatorial Candidate, instead of reaching into the pool of people who ran in the primary, they imported Alan Keyes, who couldn't win in Maryland. I had always liked Keyes, but he sure ran a lousy campaign.
ReplyDeleteI have always had a lot of respect for Ambassador Keyes, but he can be abrasive and not come off well to an audience. He needs some coaching on working an audience. Sometimes raw intellect is not enough.
DeleteThe Facts are not the Picture, just as the Forest is not one Tree or a group of Trees. Predicting the future of a Democrat run area is easy. Look at where the Democrats have taken all past states and cities, that they have controlled. The Greatness of America is that when people are unhappy we can vote with our feet. People look for a state where we can tolerate the situation. Loss or Gain of population is the only number you need to judge any area. The trouble is the current Administration has poisoned more then just a city or state now I have serious doubts about the country. Government has made it more difficult find that tolerable place, but too much Government control always does that Regardless of Party or "ism". Live Free or Die
ReplyDeleteWhile your outlook is pessimistic there are solutions to every one of our problems at hand. The Keystone pipeline, the Gulf oil, offshore oil, ANWR and drilling on Federally controlled state landsl would go a long way if Mr. Obama would loosen his grip and approve all of those areas for production.
DeleteReal "Fair Trade," which we do not have as many countries have high import duties on our goods while we let theirs come in duty free; in the name of "fairness?"
True there are solutions as you point out, but all your "solutions" involve the Government letting go of power or control. This has not happened in the past without great turmoil and I like you am doubtful of future promises by government academics who have no business experience. I have been studying the roll of deflation in this country's and Japan's past and have come to believe it is our likely near future. I am not pessimistic, I am just a realist looking for a dry place to stand.
DeleteI do not know what power Mr. Obama extracts from weakening the nation unless it is to crush the people and the Constitution so he can become an "Eternal President," a la his Korean friends.
DeleteMy solution is to VOTE OUT every one of these guys in every election in six years the people are in charge if we give them a parade or a rope when they come home from that one term depending on performance.
California is worse off than Illinois in that it has NO state wide elected Republicans holding office. Those offices include our two U.S. Senators, Governor, Lit. Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Insurance Commissioner and Superintendent of Public Instruction, all of which are Democrats.
ReplyDeleteNot only that, but no one in the media challenges Jerry Brown's creative accounting of counting money he took from community development funds, and others he was not to touch, ignore many bills and bonds that have to be paid to declare a surplus and of course totally deny all the unfunded pension systems for which we the taxpayers are on the hook. Believe me, if you can sell out equitably, get out of California. I wish I could.
